Abstract

ABSTRAK
Kabupaten Sambas merupakan kawasan yang memiliki budaya kesultanan yang kental,
sehingga akan dirancang sebuah Islamic Centre sebagai penunjang bagi masyarakatnya.
Perancangan Islamic Centre ini menyesuaikan dengan iklim sekitar dikarenakan iklim pulau
Kalimantan yaitu tropis yang menjadi dasar penelitian konsep arsitektur bioklimatik, sehingga
sangat adaptif terhadap iklim. Hal yang dilakukan dalam pengaplikasian arsitektur bioklimatik
dalam bangunan Islamic Centre ini adalah menggunakan indikator arsitektur bioklimatik
menurut Kenneth Yeang, sehingga menghasilkan desain masjid yang dapat adaptif terhadap
iklim. Indikator-indikator tersebut antara lain orientasi bangunan terhadap iklim, penggunaan
warna cerah ke bangunan untuk mengurangi rasa panas, memaksimalkan bukaan searah
datangnya angin, courtyard yang dijadikan sebagai alat sirkulasi udara, lantai dasar yang
terekspos keluar sehingga terintegrasi dengan elemen lingkungan dan penggunaan material
beremisi karbon rendah. Penyelesaian desain arsitektur bioklimatik memperhatikan hubungan
antara bentuk arsitektur dan lingkungan. Tujuan rancangan proyek ini adalah menyediakan
sarana peribadatan berupa Islamic Centre yang dapat dimanfaatkan bagi masyarakat
Kabupaten Sambas. Selain kegiatan peribadatan, Islamic Centre ini juga mendukung kegiatan
ekonomi, sosial, dan rekreasi edukatif.

ABSTRACT
Sambas Regency is an area that has a strong sultanate culture, so an Islamic Center will be
designed as a support for its people. The design of this Islamic Center adapts to the
surrounding climate because the climate of the island of Borneo is tropical which is the basis
for research on the concept of bioclimatic architecture, so it is very adaptive to the climate.
What is done in the application of bioclimatic architecture in the Islamic Center building is to
use indicators of bioclimatic architecture according to Kenneth Yeang, resulting in a mosque
design that can be adaptive to the climate. These indicators include the orientation of the
building to the climate, the use of bright colors to the building to reduce heat, maximizing the
opening in the direction of the wind, the courtyard which is used as a means of air circulation,
the ground floor which is exposed to the outside so that it is integrated with environmental
elements and the use of carbon-emitting materials. low. Completion of bioclimatic architectural
design pays attention to the relationship between architectural forms and the environment. The
purpose of this project design is to provide a place of worship in the form of an Islamic Center
that can be used for the people of Sambas Regency. In addition to worship activities, the Islamic
Center also supports economic, social and educational recreational activities.
