The Sundanese script is one of the Sundanese cultures that is necessary and obligatory to be passed down from generation to generation to future generations. Sundanese script is one of the identities or one of the characteristics of the nation. There are various kinds of efforts to preserve Sundanese culture, one way that can be done is by introducing elementary school students to learning local content or Sundanese. With the Sundanese script material in learning Sundanese, indirectly elementary school students will know in advance one of the Sundanese cultures that must be known and recognized. Moreover, today's school students, especially for the city of Sukabumi, know more about the language and writing of foreign countries than the culture of Indonesia, even elementary school students are more confident in using writing from foreign countries than writing from their home country. If allowed to continue, then sooner or later, the Sundanese script will disappear or even become extinct.

ABSTRAK
Aksara Sunda merupakan salah satu budaya Sunda yang perlu dan wajib untuk diwariskan secara turun – temurun kepada generasi mendatang. Aksara Sunda merupakan salah satu identitas atau salah satu ciri bangsa. Ada berbagai macam upaya dalam melestarikan kebudayaan Sunda, salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan yaitu dengan cara pengenalan kepada murid sekolah dasar dalam pembelajaran muatan lokal atau bahasa Sunda. Dengan adanya materi Aksara Sunda pada pembelajaran bahasa Sunda, secara tidak langsung murid sekolah dasar akan mengetahui terlebih dahulu salah satu kebudayaan sunda yang harus diketahui dan dikenali. Terlebih murid sekolah zaman sekarang, khususnya untuk wilayah kota Sukabumi, lebih mengetahui bahasa dan tulisan dari negara asing dibandingkan dengan budaya dari negara Indonesia, bahkan murid sekolah dasar lebih percaya diri menggunakan tulisan dari negara asing dibandingkan dengan tulisan dari negara asal. Jika dibiarkan terus menerus, maka cepat atau lambat, Aksara Sunda akan hilang atau bahkan punah.
