Abstract

Abstract
The rapid urbanization in Bojongsoang has led to a significant reduction of green open spaces, the rise of microclimate temperatures, and the limited availability of public areas that can accommodate community activities. This condition has a notable impact on environmental quality and social interaction, especially for young generations who require spaces to create, express, and develop community networks. This study proposes the application of the Oasis Urbanism theme in the design of a Youth Center as an approach oriented toward creating cool, ecological, inclusive, and sustainable spaces within tropical urban areas. Oasis Urbanism focuses on the integration of vegetation, water elements, climate-responsive materials, and passive architectural strategies that can mitigate the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect while enhancing the comfort of public spaces. The contextual strategies are adjusted to the climatic, social, and ecological conditions of Bojongsoang to ensure that the design responds to local needs. The research method used is descriptive qualitative through literature review, precedent analysis, contextual mapping, and architectural design exploration. The result is a Youth Center design as a green refuge: a functional, adaptive, and healthy green space that supports youth creativity while simultaneously demonstrating the applicability of Oasis Urbanism at the site scale of tropical public buildings.
