PENERAPAN GEOMETRI FRAKTAL DALAM ARSITEKTUR KONTEMPORER PADA GUBAHAN MASSA BANDUNG GROWTH CULTURAL CENTRE DI KOTA BANDUNG

Abstrak
Penerapan geometri fraktal dalam arsitektur kontemporer menjadi konsep utama dalam perancangan Bandung Growth Cultural Centre (BGCC), sebuah ruang kreatif yang mewadahi ekspresi seni, kolaborasi, dan pengembangan kreativitas generasi muda di Kota Bandung. Prinsip self-similarity dan iterasi diterapkan pada gubahan massa hingga elemen lanskap untuk menghasilkan konfigurasi ruang yang adaptif terhadap dinamika sosial-budaya yang terus berubah. Integrasi identitas lokal dengan nilai-nilai kontemporer membentuk pola fraktal yang merepresentasikan kesinambungan, transformasi, dan inovasi budaya. Proporsi bangunan mengadopsi golden ratio (1,618) guna menghadirkan harmoni visual, ritme, dan kenyamanan estetis. Metode perancangan bersifat deskriptif-kualitatif melalui identifikasi isu globalisasi terhadap budaya lokal, analisis kebutuhan ruang, serta studi literatur mengenai geometri fraktal, golden ratio, dan arsitektur kontemporer, dilengkapi studi banding pusat budaya sejenis. Data primer diperoleh lewat observasi tapak serta wawancara informal dengan komunitas seni, data sekunder berasal dari regulasi, pustaka, dan sumber daring. Sintesis data tersebut memandu strategi desain yang menekankan inklusivitas, keberlanjutan, serta fleksibilitas program. Hasilnya ialah rancangan yang tidak hanya estetis, tetapi juga fungsional dan kontekstual. BGCC diharapkan menjadi ikon yang memadukan tradisi dan modernitas, memperkuat identitas budaya, serta menjadi destinasi kreatif unggulan yang menopang ekosistem seni, pendidikan, dan pariwisata kota. BGCC diharapkan menjadi ikon arsitektur yang kuat bagi kota.

Abstract
The application of fractal geometry in contemporary architecture serves as the main concept in the design of the Bandung Growth Cultural Centre (BGCC), a creative space that accommodates artistic expression, collaboration, and the development of youth creativity in Bandung City. The principles of self-similarity and iteration are implemented from mass composition to landscape elements in order to produce spatial configurations that adapt to continuously changing socio-cultural dynamics. The integration of local identity with contemporary values generates fractal patterns that represent cultural continuity, transformation, and innovation. The building’s proportions adopt the golden ratio (1.618) to provide visual harmony, rhythm, and aesthetic comfort. The design process employs a descriptive-qualitative method involving the identification of globalization issues affecting local culture, spatial needs analysis, and literature reviews on fractal geometry, the golden ratio, and contemporary architecture, complemented by comparative studies of similar cultural centers. Primary data were obtained through site observations and informal interviews with art communities, while secondary data were derived from regulations, scholarly references, and online sources. This synthesis guides a design strategy emphasizing inclusivity, sustainability, and programmatic flexibility. The result is a design that is not only aesthetic but also functional and contextual. BGCC is envisioned as an icon blending tradition and modernity, strengthening cultural identity, and becoming a leading creative destination that supports the city’s art, education, and tourism ecosystem. Ultimately, BGCC is expected to stand as a strong architectural landmark for the city.
