Abstract

Abstract
Culture is not merely art, but a way of life, a way of thinking, and a way of interpreting the world around us. Culture reflects the values, norms, and worldviews of a society. In Indonesia, values such as mutual cooperation, tolerance, diversity, and religiosity are deeply ingrained in social life. However, the tide of urbanization and globalization has triggered a shift in values, causing younger generations to become increasingly disconnected from their cultural roots. Bandung, as a creative city with a rapidly developing modern lifestyle, faces similar challenges. Rumpaka Youth Cultural Center is a Youth Cultural Center in Bandung designed to facilitate interaction, learning, and character building among the younger generation through architecture based on local Culture. The concept is based on the Sundanese proverb “Tungtungna ruyung ka sasaungan ogé nepi,” which means a continuous process until the goal is achieved. This philosophy is translated through an Intangible Metaphor approach with three main principles: stages, interconnectedness, and goal achievement. The principle of stages is realized through an integrated spatial flow within landscape zoning , creating a psychological response from the outset. The principle of interconnectedness is applied through the arrangement of interconnected functions, creating continuity in activities. The principle of achieving goals is reflected in the orientation of the mass and progressive circulation towards the Center of activity as the climax of the spatial journey. The application of this principle results in a design that is not only functional but also rich in cultural meaning, while also serving as a medium for character building and conveying profound messages to the younger generation.
