Abstract

Abstract
The rapid development of technology and the flow of information in modern society have had a significant impact on the lifestyles of young generations, particularly in the preservation of local culture. In Bandung, this phenomenon is evident in the declining interest of youth in Sundanese cultural heritage, which is caused by limited access to cultural spaces, the lack of community engagement platforms, and the absence of accessible and representative facilities. On the other hand, social, academic, and psychological pressures on young people are increasing, creating the need for spaces that not only serve as platforms for cultural expression but also support users’ mental and emotional well-being. To address these issues, the youth cultural center is designed as a cultural hub for young people, integrating cultural preservation functions with the principles of healing architecture. This concept emphasizes the creation of built environments that are calming, psychologically healthy, and supportive of both physical and emotional recovery. The application of healing architecture includes the use of natural lighting, vegetation, optimal air circulation, as well as soothing colors and materials. Furthermore, the design responds to the dynamic characteristics of the young generation by providing flexible, collaborative, and adaptive spaces that accommodate cultural, artistic, educational, and recreational activities. The youth cultural center is also equipped with supporting facilities such as co-working spaces and cafés, serving as social interaction nodes across communities. Thus, the presence of this cultural center not only functions as a means of preserving local culture but also as a space that reduces mental pressure, fosters a sense of belonging, and empowers young generations holistically within the context of modern urban life.
