Abstrak
Perancangan WELAH Youth Culture Center di Kota Bandung didasari kebutuhan akan fasilitas yang mampu mewadahi ekspresi budaya, kreativitas, dan interaksi generasi muda di tengah derasnya arus globalisasi yang cenderung menggeser nilai-nilai lokal. Tujuan utama perancangan ini adalah menciptakan pusat kebudayaan yang mampu menjembatani identitas lokal Sunda dengan kebutuhan modern, sehingga tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai ruang aktivitas, tetapi juga sebagai ikon budaya baru bagi kota Bandung. Latar belakang ini semakin kuat dengan status Bandung sebagai UNESCO City of Design serta perkembangan komunitas kreatif yang pesat, sehingga menuntut adanya ruang representatif untuk menampung kegiatan lintas generasi.
Metodologi penelitian dilakukan melalui studi literatur, analisis tapak, eksplorasi prinsip arsitektur neo vernakular Sunda, serta perumusan program ruang yang sesuai kebutuhan pengguna. Nilai kebaruan dari penelitian ini terletak pada penerapan konsep Sinergi Dinamis antara Budaya Lokal dan Modern melalui integrasi pola tata massa Kampung Naga, bentuk atap julang ngapak, serta pemanfaatan material lokal seperti kayu dan bambu yang dikombinasikan dengan teknologi konstruksi modern. Luaran dari penelitian ini berupa rancangan pusat kebudayaan yang adaptif, kontekstual, dan multifungsi, yang mendukung kegiatan seni, edukasi, pertunjukan, dan kolaborasi, sehingga memperkuat identitas budaya Sunda sekaligus tetap relevan dengan kebutuhan generasi muda di masa kini maupun mendatang.

Abstract
The design of WELAH Youth Culture Center in Bandung is based on the urgent need for a facility that accommodates cultural expression, creativity, and youth interaction amidst the rapid flow of globalization that tends to shift local values. The main objective of this design is to create a cultural hub that bridges Sundanese identity with modern needs, functioning not only as a space for activities but also as a new cultural landmark for the city of Bandung. This background is reinforced by Bandung’s status as a UNESCO City of Design and the rapid development of creative communities, which demand a representative space to facilitate cross-generational activities.
The research methodology includes literature studies, site analysis, exploration of Sundanese neo-vernacular architectural principles, and spatial programming tailored to user needs. The novelty of this research lies in the application of the concept Dynamic Synergy between Local Culture and Modernity through the integration of Kampung Naga-inspired linear massing, Julang Ngapak roof form, and the use of local materials such as wood and bamboo combined with modern construction technology. The outcome of this study is the design of an adaptive, contextual, and multifunctional cultural center that supports art, education, performance, and collaboration, thereby strengthening Sundanese cultural identity while remaining relevant to the needs of Bandung’s younger generation now and in the future.
