ABSTRACT
As time passed, human development developed rapidly and the human population grew at a rapid rate. Resulting in the emergence of new cities as a new place to live. Kota Baru Parahyangan is a city that is still at the stage of the development process towards an integrated city. An ideal city is required to fulfill several elements of the city and one of them is facilities to support community activities in the city. Necessary facilities such as places for education, health, recreation, and shopping centers are needed. In designing this shopping center the approach chosen is contextual architecture with the aim that this building has conformity with the context around its site. In addition to the application of the theme in this building, it is also necessary to pay attention to the applicable regulations and circumstances that can affect a design, one of which is in terms of the new normal. New normal greatly affects the design of this shopping center building. There are many things that need to be considered, both in terms of room volume, the need for a temperature checking and sterilization area, and air circulation in the building. The implementation of the shopping center design with the application of contextual architecture in the new normal period is that the roof of the building is made higher and there are openings for natural ventilation so that cross circulation can occur. As well as the use of materials and the color of the surrounding buildings are abstracted in this shopping center building.
