KAMPANYE MENINGKATKAN AWARENESS MANFAAT MANGROVE TERHADAP KEBERLANGSUNGAN BIOTA LAUT

Abstract

Mangroves, as unique coastal ecosystems, play a crucial role in maintaining the balance of coastal and marine environments. They are essential for various marine biota, such as mollusks, fish, and birds. Additionally, mangroves significantly impact air quality by absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, thus contributing to the reduction of air pollution and lowering greenhouse gas concentrations, which helps to slow down global warming. However, public awareness of environmental conservation remains low, leading to the threat of mangrove ecosystems in Indonesia due to factors such as land encroachment, pollution, and climate change. This research employs a qualitative approach, including literature studies and interviews, resulting in a book that conveys messages from the perspectives of the sea, humans, and mangroves. A Story Anthology was chosen for its use of poetic language and metaphors, aiming to make the information more engaging. It is hoped that this book will remind the public of the importance of environmental conservation, particularly in preserving mangrove areas as habitats for marine life, and encourage future preservation efforts.
