PENENTUAN JUMLAH PEGAWAI DI UD PUTRA MANDIRI DENGAN METODE FULL TIME EQUIVALENT

Abstrak

UD Putra Mandiri is a company engaged in the production of breadfruit sticks. There is an increase in demand at UD Putra Mandiri from 3 quintals to 3.5 quintals. With the increase in the amount of production, the manager wants to increase the number of employees. To be accurate, the addition of the number of employees must be based on the calculation of employee workload. The purpose of this study is to determine the number of employees needed to meet the production target of 3.5 quintals per day with the least cost. The method used to calculate employee needs by considering the workload in the form of production targets is the Full Time Equivalent (FTE) method. The FTE method calculates the workload of the production department expressed by the total standard time for product completion according to the production target and then divided by the total effective working hours. Based on the results of data processing, it is proposed that the company add employees to the vertical cutting activity process as many as 7 people with a total wage expenditure of Rp.60,412,000.00. This is because the calculation of the FTE value in the activity process is included in the Overload category which means the workload is too much, this can make the company's productivity decrease and the production target is not achieved.

UD Putra Mandiri merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang produksi stick sukun. Terdapat peningkatan permintaan di UD Putra Mandiri dari 3 kuintal menjadi 3,5 kuintal. Dengan adanya penambahan jumlah produksi tersebut, pengelola ingin menambah jumlah pegawai. Agar akurat penambahan jumlah pegawai tersebut harus berdasarkan perhitungan beban kerja pegawai. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan jumlah pegawai yang diperlukan untuk memenuhi target produksi 3,5 kuintal per hari dengan biaya paling kecil. Metode yang digunakan untuk menghitung kebutuhan pegawai dengan mempertimbangkan beban kerja berupa target produksi adalah metode Full Time Equivalent (FTE). Metode FTE menghitung beban kerja bagian produksi yang dinyatakan dengan total waktu baku penyelesaian produk sesuai target produksi dan kemudian dibagi dengan total jam kerja efektif. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data diusulkan perusahaan melakukan penambahan pegawai pada bagian proses aktivitas pemotongan vertikal sebanyak 7 orang dengan jumlah total pengeluaran upah sebesar Rp.60.412.000,00. Hal tersebut dikarenakan perhitungan nilai FTE pada proses aktivitas tersebut termasuk dalam kategori Overload yang berarti beban kerja terlalu banyak, hal ini dapat membuat produktivitas perusahaan menurun dan tidak tercapainya target produksi.
