KINERJA RUANG PUBLIK KAWASAN ALUN-ALUN KOTA BANDUNG

Abstract

The performance of public spaces has a significant impact on the development of big cities. Public spaces function to facilitate all kinds of community activities, both individual and group. However, recently there has been a phenomenon that has changed the concept of public space, privatization of public space. When a public space is controlled by only one party and used for private purposes. Therefore, on this occasion the researcher wanted to conduct research in one of the famous public places in the city of Bandung, namely the Bandung City Square area. The aim of this research is to use one method, namely the star publicness model method which consists of five variables, namely ownership, physical configuration, animation, control and civility to evaluate the public space corridor. This method is used to calculate the performance of public spaces and display the performance of public spaces using a star model. It can be concluded that the performance of public space in the Bandung Square area is high. Keywords: public space, public space performance, and the star model of publicness

Abstrak
Kinerja ruang publik mempunyai dampak yang signifikan terhadap perkembangan kota-kota besar. Ruang publik berfungsi untuk memfasilitasi segala macam aktivitas masyarakat, baik individu maupun kelompok. Namun belakangan ini terjadi fenomena yang mengubah konsep ruang publik privatisasi ruang publik. Ketika suatu ruang publik dikuasai hanya oleh satu pihak dan digunakan untuk keperluan pribadi. Oleh karena itu, pada kesempatan kali ini peneliti ingin melakukan penelitian di salah satu tempat umum yang terkenal di kota bandung yaitu kawasan Alun-Alun Kota Bandung. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah dengan menggunakan salah satu metode yaitu metode model bintang publicness yang terdiri dari lima variabel yaitu ownership, physical configuration, animation, control, dan civility untuk mengevaluasi koridor ruang publik. Metode ini digunakan untuk menghitung kinerja ruang publik dan menampilkan kinerja ruang publik dengan menggunakan model bintang. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa kinerja ruang publik di kawasan Alun-Alun Bandung tinggi. Kata kunci: Ruang publik, kinerja ruang publik, dan model bintang publicness
