Abstract

Multi-storey buildings are objects of lightning strikes because they are the highest areas. One of the important roles to protect buildings from lightning strikes is to install lightning protection devices on buildings. The lightning protection device is installed above the building to be protected. The purpose of installing lightning protection equipment is so that the building and the components in the building are protected from lightning attacks that can cause damage. By using the rolling sphere method to calculate the amount of lightning current received. The control room building has a direct lightning strike frequency (Nd) of 0.03 lightning strikes per year with an area equivalent to building lightning strikes (Ae) of 1082.95 m2. The value of the intensity of lightning strikes to the ground (Ng) is 27.6 strikes per km2 per year. The level of protection obtained for the Control Room building is level II with a radius of 30 meters.
