Seiring berkembangnya zaman, ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi semakin meningkat, perubahan signifikan terlihat pada bidang teknologi. Berbagai inovasi teknologi diterapkan untuk membantu kinerja manusia. Melihat hal tersebut mendorong peniliti melakukan inovasi pada sebuah alat roasting kopi yang biasanya menggunakan gas LPG. Peneliti membuat alat pengering biji kopi kapasitas 1 Kg dimana sumber utama mesin menggunakan listrik yang berasal dari PLTS serta menggunakan filamen sebagai sumber panas pada mesin dan IC555 sebagai kontrol proses roasting. Kontrol yang terdapat pada IC555 bertujuan untuk membatasi proses roasting yang sedang dilakukan antara 0-120 menit. Jika proses roasting sudah selesai maka buzzer yang berada pada kontrol panel akan berbunyi menandakan bahwa kopi sudah matang dan proses pengeringan kopi selesai. Setelah dilakukan uji coba pada alat ini didapat hasil pengeringan yang sama dengan hasil pengeringan menggunakan gas LPG. Dengan jenis kopi arabika dan hasil roasting kopi medium coklat kehitaman.

Along with the development of the times, science and technology is increasing, significant changes are seen in the field of technology. Various technological innovations are applied to help human performance. Seeing this encourages researchers to innovate on a coffee roaster which usually uses LPG gas. Researchers made a coffee bean dryer with a capacity of 1 Kg where the main source of the machine uses electricity from PLTS and uses filament as a heat source in the machine and IC555 as a roasting process control. The control contained in the IC555 aims to limit the roasting process being carried out between 0-120 minutes. If the roasting process is complete, the buzzer on the control panel will sound indicating that the coffee is ripe and the coffee drying process is complete. After testing on this tool, the drying results were the same as the drying results using LPG gas. With the type of Arabica coffee and coffee roasted medium blackish brown.
